Fellow Oxford residents,
This site was designed for the people of Oxford so each and every citizen could further learn about my campaign platform, accomplishments, education and family as I seek to be elected for an Oxford committee seat in the upcoming primary and general election. If elected, this site will also serve as your window to my strides and accomplishments in the municipal government of Oxford. I truly believe that the residents of Oxford and the town committee should be of one relationship, demonstrating communication, understanding and trust from each other working toward common goals. I believe that no persons shall ever be left in the dark when it comes to decisions being made concerning Oxford and its residents, whether good or bad. Once again, I thank all the residents of Oxford and hope everyone makes it out to vote on June 2nd, 2009.
“It’s time for a change”

I believe that each one of us has the potential of accomplishing great goals in life. Allow me to classify each as either “conceivable” or “achievable” as I express some issues. As your committeeman, I will work toward accomplishing the following for Oxford and its residents.
For years, the Oxwall tool site has been an eyesore in the downtown area to both residents and business owners. Mr Kellner, the owner of the site, has been given sufficient time to clean up his property. His promises and timelines were merely a charade as he bought time with committee members. I’ve seen enough !! Following the legal guidelines of Eminent Domain, Mr Kellner no longer has a bagful of excuses ! I will exhaust as much time and effort as it takes to see this site cleaned up. As taxpayers, we all have the right to a beautiful downtown area.
I’ve studied the town of Oxford and its history pertaining to the police department. Currently, the police force is understaffed while overtime spending is out of control. After reviewing the 2008 municipal budget, one “conceivable” solution would be to hire two new officers to the department. Cuts in manpower could be made in other town departments as well as additional savings in expenditures. The residents of Oxford would then receive 24 hour coverage 7 days a week with little or no overtime.
Since arriving in Oxford, I’ve noted and experienced several communication barriers with the residents and the towns committee. Committee members are elected by the people, to serve in the best interests of the people. As elected officials, we have a sworn duty to carry out decisions that allow Oxford to flourish as a business. We spend exhausting hours going over and tweaking budgets allowing for possible savings to the taxpayers and surplus to the town. In turn, investments for infrastructure can be made completing a sound financial circle for everyone in Oxford. If elected to the town committee, I will see to it that the decisions I make benefit the town and residents. Second, to possibly have a recreation center for the children or even a place for our seniors to enjoy, building on ideas where all residents can feel like their tax dollars are going toward something well worth its use. I’m open for suggestions ! We built a new DPW garage, why not a new building for the rescue squad or maybe some lights and a new scoreboard at the ballfield behind the post office ?? With an end to wasteful spending and surplus in the budget, anything is possible…
Born in Harrisburg, PA to Donald and Sheila Gibbons. My father served in the Air Force and was an electrical engineer and mom, oldest sister of five, the homemaker. When I was 3, my parents moved us from Harrisburg to Morris County NJ. My parents purchased a home in Denville, NJ and also presented me with a younger brother. Denville is where I spent the next 14 years. As a child, I excelled at sports playing Denville PAL baseball. As a young adult, I continued sports in school lettering in baseball and being scouted as a football player. Prior to graduating high school, I received several letters of interest to play college football. After graduation, I returned to PA for my education receiving a scholarship to play football at a top ten school. My major study was psychology. During my junior year at school, I suffered a severe tragedy. My father had become very sick and was found in a coma. I made the ultimate choice to leave school and a football career returning home to help care for my father. My dad passed several years later at the age of 55. After my fathers death, I returned to school as an adult to complete a liberal arts degree. I also possess a vocations degree in Metallurgy and a vocations certificate in the field of welding.
I have 3 children. Ashley (19) is a college student in Philadelphia. Jessica (14) is a freshman in high school and my son Matthew, who isn't quite old enough for school yet. My better half (Janice) and I purchased a home in the Spring Meadow section of Oxford a year earlier.
I have been employed by Toyota Motors co for the last 18 years. In 2001, I was presented with a high achievement award and most recently in 2008, a team excellence award. I was also involved in other business ventures over the years. I was the past owner/partner of a retail gasoline business in Morris County. Prior to moving to Warren County, I operated a construction company for several years. While in Denville, I was a softball/baseball coach for 7 years. I am also a highly certified scuba diver and an avid golfer.
In closing, Janice and I love the town and what better way to give back to the community then from the town committee seat !!
